The Department of Botany organised training Programme on Plant Horticulture Techniques for the students of the BSc 5th Semester Major as well as General Students at Agricultural Research Station of Assam Agricultural University at Kahikuchi on 24th September 2019. Chief Scientist Dr N Mazumder demonstrated different techniques applied in Horticulture of plants in present time. He also gave details of downstream processing of horticultural crops and different advance researches going on in present time in this sector. Students learned presently used horticultural techniques like advance grafting, layering etc. Leaf bud grafting technique and floriculture of Orchids attracted the students attention most as it has high prospective of future self employment. All total 23 students (18 major course students and 5 General course students) participated in the programme.
