The Department of Chemistry, Arya Vidyapeeth College organized an “Interactive Online Lecture Series on Chemistry” featuring a host of eminent academicians and scientists from various elite institutions, starting from 10th July. The core objective of this lecture series is to educate the participants, mostly students about topics covering basic chemistry syllabus courses to advanced level chemistry, and provide them a platform to learn, interact and gain knowledge from distinguished speakers in their respective domains, thereby exposing them to future scopes.

The online program was inaugurated by Dr. Pradyut Sarma, Head of the Department, Chemistry, Arya Vidyapeeth College, who had delivered the welcome address, focusing on the need to educate and provide exposure to the students on various future scopes, knowledge and opportunities, keeping in line with the aim of the lecture series. The program had been conducted on Google Meet. The inaugural lecture was delivered by Dr. Manash Pratim Sarmah, Lead Investigator, Syngene International Ltd., Bengaluru, on the topic “Disconnection Approach in Chemistry” focusing on the use of advanced level chemistry towards applications in pharmaceutical industries. The lecture was attended by a total of 73 participants comprising of college students and faculty members. The online lecture was followed by an interactive session with the participants, who were very prompt with their queries, especially on policies, research and employment prospects in pharmaceutical industries.
