Student Interaction Programme by Internationalisation Wing

Ms. Darshana Sarmah, a daughter of Assam who is now an upcoming Manager of Global Investment Optimisation at American Express, from New York, USA had a vibrant interaction with the students of the Department of Commerce on 16/02/2024.

Darshana spoke on the various opportunities and challenges in the investment sector in the global perspective. She encouraged the students by showing a focused path to success. She also spoke on the challenges of information gap, skill gap, finance and time constraints.

Students were introduced to Information gathering, target countries/ universities, alignment with long term goal

  • Exams – GMAT, TOEFL were discussed
  • Shortlisting of MBA colleges, Applications, Interviews, Networking & decision making were dealt with.
  • The importance of Logistics such as visa, tuition fee arrangement, travel, stay
  • Acclimation

were discussed threadbare. Various other relevant examinations and loan providers for studying abroad were also discussed. This linkage will continue with the students through the Internationalisation Wing in the coming years.

The program started with a Saraswati Vandana by Dr. Kamal Prasad Gautam, then a brief introduction of the Resource person by Daisy Rani Hazarika, welcome speech by Dr. Chhandashree Bhuyan, Coordinator of the Internationalisation wing, vote of thanks by Ayemi Suli Yohana. The whole program was hosted by Dr. Deboshree Bhattacharjee.

The program was collaborated with the Commerce department and the HoD Commerce Dr. Kallol Bhattacharjee and other faculty members of the Commerce Department were present.

The Principal, Dr. Pradip Kumar Bhattacharyya earlier welcomed Ms. Darshana Sarmah in the Official chamber before the program began.
