Our Department of Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry of Arya Vidyapeeth College, Guwahati was established in 1962 and Dr. Prabin Srama was the founder head of the department. As consequences of consistent hard work, many alumni of this Department are seen to pursue their studies in many prestigious institutions of higher learning. The Department has a strong academic infrastructure. The Department is also offering post-graduation course in Chemistry since 2015. Presently, 5 students are pursuing their PhD degree in the department and 10 of them were awarded with PhD degree by Gauhati University. From the establishment, the department has a very good reputation in the academic field. Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India has been certified as a Star Department under the Department of Biotechnology, DBT, in two times. Recently in the year 2019, the department has been certified as a star department under Department of Biotechnology, DBT, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India
