About Arya Vidyapeeth College (A)

Arya Vidyapeeth College, a premier educational institution of Northeast was established on 29th July, 1958 under the leadership of the founder Principal, Arya pita Giridhar Sarma. The tradition of relentless pursuit of academic excellence and social commitment is aptly reflected in the re-accreditation of the college with grade 'A' by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 2016. The college celebrated its "Diamond Jubilee" in the year 2018. Six departments of the college have been selected by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology under "Star College Scheme." The College has attained another feat recently as it has been granted Autonomous status by the UGC for a period of ten years in May 2022. Recently, College has received funds from DST-FIST for improved laboratories facilities.
