Major Research Project

  • ICSSR has approved a Short-term Empirical Research Project entitled “Socioeconomic and Environmental Outcomes of Ujjwala Scheme: A study on the amelioration of Deprivation Indicators and its contribution towards reaching the SDGs in Assam” . Dr. Rahul Sankritayan Mazumdar, of Arya Vidyapeeth College (Autonomous)is the Principal Investigator. Prof Kalyan Das, Cotton University, Prof Sukanya Sharma, IIT, Guwahati, Dr. Jyotirupa Sarma and Dr Shrutidhara Kashyap both from Arya Vidyapeeth College, are the Project Directors. The ICSSR has sanctioned a grant-in-aid of Rs. 1200000/- for the above research project.

Abhirup Sarkar, a first semester student of Education department of the Arya vidyapeeth college (autonomous),has secured Gold in North-East India Open Powerlifting Championship 2023 held in Silchar.

‘Doupadi Brastraharan’ cultural event from Arya Vidyapeeth College (Autonomous) has secured the 1st prize at the Cultural Competition held during the ‘Assam Book Fair, Chandmari’, 2023

Kalaksetra Ramdhenu Utsav 2023

The Chorus Group from Arya Vidyapeeth College (Autonomous) has secured the 2nd prize at the Chorus Competition held during the ‘Kalaksetra Ramdhenu Utsav’, 2023. The event was organized by the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra Society under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Department, Government of Assam. The competition took place at the esteemed Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra.

Youth Exchange Program (YEP)

Corporal Chinmay Borah of 1 Assam Bn. NCC has been selected for the Youth Exchange Program (YEP) which will be held at St. Petersburg, RUSSIA from 23rd September to 4th October, 2023.

Best Cadet Award

Cadet Harsh Raj Sarma of 1 Assam Bn NCC has been awarded the “Best Cadet” award in “Advanced Leadership Camp” held in Rangia. The camp was held from 4th to 9th August, 2023.

Miss Talented

Miss Nikumoni Kalita secured Miss Talented position of the event Mars and Venus held under the banner of PYROKINESIS 2022, Assam Engineering College.

Best Cadet Award

Corporal Chinmay Deka and CPL Saurav Deka of 1 Assam Bn. NCC were awarded the Best Cadet Award and Best Turnout Award, respectively, in the prestigious Ek Bharat Sresth Bharat (EBSB) camp held in Madhya Pradesh.

NCC Cadets

Three NCC cadets of our college viz. CPL Chinmoy Bora, CPL Saurav Deka, CPL Bitupon Das Panika have won three coveted and prestigious positions (out of four for North East Region) for Republic Day Camp (RDC) along with two inspiring Youth Exchange Program (To be held in Moscow, Russia) 2023.

Bitopan Rajbanshi, a student of our college won the 1st prize in all Assam story Competition (Senior Level) organised by LXXVI, Narayanpur Session, 2023 of Asom Sahityo Sabha.

Senior Under Officer Debojit Deka of 1 Assam Bn NCC, Arya Vidyapeeth College Unit has been awarded as the BEST NCC CADET of Assam by the Government of Assam.

Miss Prity Roy

Miss Prity Roy of Arya Vidyapeeth College (Autonomous), participated in the Gauhati University Inter-College Arm-Wrestling Championship, 2022-23 and clinched the Gold Medal in the 55 Kg category.

Erin Nobis

Erin Nobis, a student of 6th Semester Honours, Political Science of Arya Vidyapeeth College (Autonomous) won Silver Medal who represented Gauhati University Taekwondo Championship held at GNDU, Amritsar.

Rakhi Buragohain

In the Art competition organised as a part of inaugural ceremony of ‘A Week of Life’ program of Govt of Assam, Rakhi Buragohain won 1st prize. She was representing College as part of Eco Club, AV College (A). The
program was organised by ASTEC and Government of Assam at GMC auditorium on 21 March, 2023.

Bishal Kr Sarma

In the Art competition organised as a part of inaugural ceremony of ‘A Week of Life’ program of Govt of Assam, Bishal Kr Sarma won 3rd prize. He was representing College as part of Eco Club, AV College (A). The program was organised by ASTEC and Government of Assam at GMC auditorium on 21 March, 2023.

Rajni Basnet Kalita

Rajni Basnet Kalita, an alumnus of Arya Vidyapeeth College is selected as Match Referee in the WPL, 2023. She participate as the first Match Referee from the Northeast in the event.

Nisha Koiri

Nisha Koiri, student of our college participated in the Khel Karate League Season 2, 2023 held on 29 January, 2023 at DSA indoor stadium, Silchar and won Gold in individual Kata event and Bronze in individual Kumite event in 16/17 Jr. Category.

Corporal Aditya Rana

Corporal Aditya Rana of 1 Assam Bn NCC bagged highest number of Gold Medals from North East Region Directorate in recently held Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat (EBSB) camp. The EBSB camp was held at Mysore.

Cadet Chaya Sonar

Cadet Chaya Sonar of 1 Assam Bn NCC, Arya Vidyapeeth College Unit recently secured Second Position in State Level Woman Senior Bouldering Competition and participated in National Climbing Competition held at Uttarakhand. Both the events were organised by Indian Mountaineering Foundation.

Mukunda Madhav Gogoi from BA 3rd sem, Assamese honours who got Bronze medal at 41st All Assam Boxing Championship held at Duliajan this year.

Chinmoy Bora

Cadet Chinmoy Bora (Batch 2021) of 1 Assam BN NCC, AV College have been selected for the prestigious Thal Saink Camp (TSC). The camp will be held at New Delhi.

Volunteers of NSS UNIT, Arya Vidyapeeth College won below mentioned prizes in the District Level Yuva Utsav organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan under Ministry of Youth Affairs held in S B Deorah College today on 27/09/2022.

4. Bitopan Rajbongshi won 1st prize in poem writing.

Nayatri Chetia

Nayatri Chetia of HS 2nd year (Arts) has bought glory and fame to Arya Vidyapeeth College (autonomous) by wining the Gold medal at 3rd Mount Everest International Open Taekwondo Kyorogi and Poomsae Championship held in Nepal, Pokhara from 23rd September to 25th September 2022. She had also attended a training camp approved by SAI regarding the foreign competition exposure at Keimyung University. Korea Taekowando Centre, from 11th August to 23rd August 2022. Moreover, she had also credited gold medals to her account in the Assam Youth Olympics held from 22nd July to 27th July 2022 at Guwahati and State Junior Kyorogi and Poomsae Championship held on 26th and 27th June 2022 at Guwahati.

LCPL Saurav Deka of 1 Assam Bn NCC of Arya Vidyapeeth College Unit awarded Best Commander Award in the 5th Annual Drill Competition organized by Nalbari College. It is mentioned that in the said event, cadets of both 1& 60 Assam Bn NCC had participated.

Rajni Basnet Kalita

Ex cadet Rajni Basnet Kalita of 60 Assam Girl’s BN NCC is holding the post of match referee under BCCI. Rajni is the lone match referee from Northeast who participated in International Cricket Council (ICC) programmes.

Erin Nobis
Erin Nobis has participated in the Assam Youth Olympics 2022 held from 22-27 July, 2022 as Guwahati as Team Coach. She also won Gold Medal in Senior Girls’, Individual Poomsae in 2nd Central Zone Taekwondo Championship, 2022  held during 6-8 May, 2022 at Pathsala. She also won Gold Medal in the Senior Girls individual Poomsae category in the 37th All Assam State Taekwondo Championship, 2022 held during 17-20 August at Duliajan .

Nisha Koiri participated in Kenyu-Ryu Indian Open Karate League-2022 held at Rajeev Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Gajuwaka, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh on 20th and 21st August, 2022 and achieved Gold medal in Kata and Kumite in 16-17 years Junior Girls category.
