The Eco club of Arya Vidyapeeth College along with Arya Vidyapeeth College Student’s Union organized an Open Cycle Rally on 22nd June 2019. All total 80 cyclists from all over Guwahati participated in the rally which started at 7am from the College premises and covered 24km of city road. The rally was flagged off by the Chief Guest Sri Sailen Das, Deputy Conservator of Forest, Upper Assam Division of Govt. of Assam. In the occasion he stated the importance of adventure sports and highly appreciated the relevance of spreading cycling awareness for benefit of both human and environment. The rally was organised to spread a message against Air Pollution and support the theme of the World Environment Day 2019 was supported by the Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change, Govt. of India, under their green cope mission and Guwahati Cycling Community. At the beginning of the rally Dr P K Bhattacharyya, Principal, Arya Vidyapeeth College welcomed all the participants and assured full support to spread the culture of cycling. The whole event took place in presence of large number of teachers and students of the College.
