A talk on “Preparation For IIT JAM (Mathematics)” was organised by Department of Mathematics on 2nd November, 2019 at 11.00 A.M. in Guru Nanak Auditorium of Arya Vidyapeeth College under DBT Star College Scheme. The speaker of the programme was Dr. Anjan K Chakrabarty, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, IIT Guwahati. The programme started with the address given by honorable Principal Dr. Pradip Kr. Bhattacharyya, of our college. Dr. Chakrabarty focused on some basic concepts of continuity of functions and their various properties of these functions with the help of graphs. He emphasized in his lecture that the students should give importance on solving problems using conceptual ideas rather than solving particular problems for examinations. A student interaction programme was also there in which many students took part. The programme ended with the concluding remark of Vice- Principal and HoD, Mathematics of our college Mr. Sukumar Dev Sharma.
