The Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Cell, Arya Vidyapeeth College, Guwahati in association with Optimista Learning Hub LLP, Guwahati organised a 32 hours duration course on “Spoken English and Personality Development” during February – April, 2021. The convenor of the cell is Dr Mousumi Borah, Associate Professor, Dept. of Economics, Arya Vidyapeeth College, Guwahati and the co ordinator of the said course is Dr Anindita Deka, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Zoology, Arya Vidyapeeth College, Guwahati.The course was attended by 27 participants, 26 of them were under graduate students from different disciplines of Arya Vidyapeeth College, Guwahati and 1 of them was a commerce under graduate student from K C Das Commerce College, Guwahati. The course was inaugurated on 22nd February, 2021 by the then Vice Principal of Arya Vidyapeeth College Smt. Champa Patgiri.

The course addressed topics like emotional intelligence, stress management, paralanguage, interview facing skills, public speaking and communication, time management etc. Within this course frame Ms Tribenee Bhattacharyya, Psychotherapist and NLP Practitioner, Founder, Optimista Learning Hub also addressed mass counselling session for the emotional wellbeing of the participants.
The Valedictory session of the course was held on the 8th of April, 2021. The session was chaired by the Principal of Arya Vidyapeeth College, Dr Pradip Kr Bhattacharyya.

The entire course was very well received by the participants. In the changing times of competition and economic revolution Personality Development and Communication Skills is gaining importance and is one of the important skills that every student should have in order to excel in his/her life. Keeping this in mind the Entrepreneurship & Skill Development Cell, Arya Vidyapeeth College, Guwahati has decided to organise more such courses in the near future.
