An International Virtual Workshop (Recent Developments in Earth Sciences) was organized by the Department of Geology, Arya Vidyapeeth College (AVC), Assam, from 1st to 8th of November, 2021, in which emphasis was given for the benefit of the UG/PG/Ph.D. students. The workshop provided an overall glimpse/review of the studies (basic to advance level) from various disciplines of Earth Sciences (namely: Mineralogy-Petrology, Geochemistry, Geochronology, Remote sensing, Seismology, Climate Science, Ocean Science, Mineral Exploration, Ore Geology, etc.). Notably, the workshop was attended by 220 participants from various disciplines of Earth Sciences (including students), in which widely acclaimed and highly honored both International and National Academicians, Researchers, and Industry Professional (e.g.; Prof. Gopalan Srinivasan: a main belt asteroid is named after his name) delivered their talk.

On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to extend my gratitude towards Dr. Pradip Kr. Bhattacharyya (Chief Patron & The Principal of AVC) for his constant support in organizing the event. I also would like to thank Dr. Jonali Medhi (Patron & HOD, Department of Geology, AVC) and coordinators (Dr. Swapnali Dutta and Dr. Niva Rani Devi) for their constant support in the event.
