World Wildlife Day Celebration 2023

The Department of Zoology and IQAC, Arya Vidyapeeth College (Autonomous) celebrated the World Wildlife Day on 3rd March, 2023 under the theme “Partnerships for wildlife Conservation”. The program was held in Guru Nanak Auditorium at 2.00 PM and was attended by Dean (Academics), faculties and students of the College. Dr Anindita Deka was the Co coordinator of the event. The welcome address of the program was given by Dr Chhandashree Bhuyan, HOD, Department of Zoology. A scientific biological insight on the theme “Partnerships for wildlife Conservation” was given by Dr Ruli Borthakur, Associate Professor, Department of Zoology. On this occasion, there was a talk on the topic “Wild in the City: An insight into Urban Wildlife” which was delivered by Dr Jayaditya Purkayastha, Consultant, Assam State Biodiversity Board. He elaborated on the conservation scenario of Guwahati City, speaking on the biodiversity and steps for conservation of wild plants and animals of Guwahati city.
