Inauguration programme of “Bhasha Gaurab Saptah” is held on 4/11/24 at Arya Vidyapeeth College. This programme is inaugurated by Dr. Pradip Kumar Bhattacharyya, Principal of the College.
Students from various departments have recited Assamese poetry from charyapada till date. A good number of teachers and students were present in the programme. Besides this, family member of Sahitya Akademy awardee poet Nalinidhar Bhattacharyya (Smt. Minu Bhattacharya, daughter) were also present in the function. Smt. Minu Bhattacharya donated two nos of almira to the Assamese dept. in the memory of her father Nalinidhar Bhattacharya. The meeting is hosted by Dr. Gitanjali Hazarika, HoD dept. of Assamese.
On the second day of the celebration of Bhasha Gaurab Saptah, a lecture is delivered by Lierateur Ratneswar Basumatary on Asamiya aru Boro Bhasha: uttaranar parasparik sahayogita. Total 140 nos of people gathered in the meeting and a lively interaction was held . As today is the thirteenth death anniversary of Sudhakantha Dr. Bhupen Hazarika the meeting also offered respect to the icon and Nishangi Talukdar a student of the college cum all india radio artist performed a Bhupendra sangit. The host of the programme was Dr. Gitanjali Hazarika.
on the 3 rd day of “Bhasha Gaurab Saptah” (6th november 2024) students engaged in reading some of the selected Assamese short stories from beginning till date. They have also taken the time to wrote letters of gratitude to the honourable prime minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi, expressing their appreciation for granting classical status to the Assamese language.Altogether 156 people were present in the meeting. The meeting is host by Dr. Gitanjali Hazarika. Dr. Pranita Barman, Dr. Ruli Barthakur, Lakhyana Dutta, Dr. Manashi Devi, Priyanka kashyap and other faculty members were present in the programme and guide the students for writing letters to honourable prime minister.
On 7th November 2024, the students of Arya vidyapeeth College wrote in social media on the importance of Assamese and other local languages of Assam to celebrate “Bhasha Gaurab Saptah”.
On 8th November, Arya vidyapeeth college (autonomous) community performed Rupkonwar Jyotiprashad Agarwala’s famous dramma “Sonit kuwari” to celebrate “Bhaxa Gaurav Xaptah”. 200 people ( including faculty membets )were present in the programme. The host of the programme was Dr. Gitanjali Hazarika.
On last day, a day long programme is arranged. First, a speech competition is held among students on the subject “o mor suria maat”.The competition is judged by Dr. Ruli Borthakur, Dept. Of Zoology and Dr Chanchal Boruah, Dept. Of Mathematics. Mr. Madhurya Hazarika, a 3rd sem student received the first prize.
In the second part of the programme, Professor Lilawati Saikia Bora, a writer cum sharp critic and Rtd. Professor and HoD of Gauhati University graced the event with a thoughtful talk on “Assamese as a Dhrupadi language and the liabilities of Asamiya”. In valedictory session a cultural event is held. Dr. Pranita Barman, Lakhyana Dutta, Priyanka Kashyap, Dr. Manashi Devi have arranged the cultural event successfully.
