A Literary Quiz Competition was organised by the Literary Cell, Arya Vidyapeeth College on 27/02/2019 at the Auditorium Hall. Mrs. Utjala Barman, the convener of the Cell inaugurated the programme by welcoming the participants and stating that the event would test their knowledge on literature, culture and history of Assam. Dr. Sangeeta Kakoty, Associate Professor, Department of History, Arya Vidyapeeth College was invited as the Quiz Master of the competition. Mr. Bappan Debnath, Assistant Professor from the Department of Bengali felicitated the Quiz Master with a gamusa and a momento. Dr. Sangeeta Kakoty stated the participants the rules and regulations of the competition. There were twenty- one teams who participated in the elimination round, out of which seven teams were selected for the competition. Bhaskar Jyoti Barman, BA 5th Semester and Chandutpal Gogoi, BSc 2nd Semester bagged the 1st prize, Jeetjyoti Kalita, BSc 2nd Semester and Pallab Pawan Nath, BSc 2nd Semester won the 2nd prize and Niharika Goswami, BA 4th Semester and Ritu Baishya, BA 4th Semester bagged the 3rd prize. The winners were given books and certificates as prizes by the Quiz Master. The programme came to an end with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Anindita Langthasa, Assistant Professor from the Department of English.
