Cleanliness Drive “Respect River, River is lifeline”

Eco Club of Arya Vidyapeeth College, Guwahati organised a cleanliness drive, “Respect River, River is lifeline”on the Brahmaputra River bank at Uzanbazar on 6th March 2022 from 8:00am to 10:30am and a cycle rally from the College to the River bank to create awareness among people about importance of waste management and reduce single use plastic for Pollution free air and water. The event is a part of Swachhta Action Plant of Assam Science Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC). In the event Eco club volunteers were supported by Arya Vidyapeeth Student’s Union, NSS and NCC units of the College. After the cleaning GMC has taken away the garbage and a part of the garbage were taken by an organisation for recycling. Total 150 students participated in the drive. The Principal of the College Dr. Pradip Kumar Bhattacharyya inaugurated and lead active participation of all in the cleanliness drive. Before the cleanliness drive students took part in the cycle rally which was flagged off in the College premises by Former Vice Principal, Dr Ganesh Choudhury. A nongovernment organisation Nature’s Trail Foundation and Studio TS put forwarded their support to the event by active participation and voluntary documentation respectively.
