NEP 2020 is the first education policy of the 21st century and replaces the thirty-four year old National Policy on Education (NPE), 1986. Built on the foundational pillars of Access, Equity, Quality, Affordability and Accountability, this policy aims to transform India into a vibrant knowledge society and global knowledge superpower by making both school and college education more holistic, flexible, multidisciplinary and aimed at bringing out the unique capabilities of each student.

Sensing the importance of preparedness of Higher Educational Institutes in regard to implementation of NEP-2020, IQAC of the College organized a talk on “Implementation of NEP-2020” on 1st June, 2022. The talk was delivered by Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta, Hon’ble Advisor to the Education Department, Govt. of Assam. Prof. Mahanta spoke in length about the fundamental principles, vision of the policy and effective governance and leadership for higher education institutions. He also enlightened the audience about the preparation of Govt. of Assam in implementing the policy. Prof. Mahanta urged the College authority to be prepared for the necessary changes as Government is planning to implement the policy from the Academic session 2023-24. Prof. Mahanta then replied to the queries of teachers regarding implementation of NEP-2020.
